Lights Out Screening

Hi All,

I hope you had a great weekend! I apologize for my absence on my blog as life has been rather hectic the past couple months.  I have recently moved and have started a new job.  All has been well and I am very blessed - anyway, more on that later!!

I recently got the chance to screen an upcoming horror movie called Lights Out. It was a very quick flick at only 81 minutes and left me with a few questions at the end however, I found it entertaining.

Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four, Point Break) stars in the movie as the main character, she is worried about her brother who lives with her mother and he has a hard time sleeping at night because of "Diana". Maria Bello (Coyote Ugly, The 5th Wave) plays their mother and Diana is her childhood friend who enjoys the dark and does "evil things".

For a rating of PG-13 I thought they did a great job scaring the audience without being too gory and over the top. There will also quite a bit of humor - something you don't always find in a horror movie and I found it quite refreshing.

I will say the ending caught me by surprise and I do think it left room for a possible sequel. Lets hope they give a little more backstory should they decide to go that route.

The acting was pretty good; Teresa Palmer did a great job and played her character well, as did Maria Bello although she didn’t have as many parts.

In conclusion, I found the movie enjoyable. I don't think it's one you can watch over and over again - one time was definitely enough but like I said I did enjoy it.

Lights Out is being released by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be out in theaters on July 22, 2016. For more information on the movie Lights Out you can visit it's official website here. Be sure to go see it if your up for a scare.
